April in Paris

Children’s Book Series by Lauri Matisse

Animated Series by Lauri Matisse & Michael Phenicie

April, age six, a smart, adventurous girl empowered by endless curiosity, descends upon a city, learns about their culture, language, and national treasures through her hysterical misadventures of which she is blissfully unaware. In the animated series, she acts as a ‘Kid Colombo,’ solving mysteries with her newfound friends.
In the first book, “April in Paris,” with her "joie de vivre,”April knocks over the Eiffel Tower, puts arms on the Venus de Milo, and learns French from a boy named, Pierre. The book ends with April’s umbrella catching the wind at the top of Notre Dame. She’s whisked away and lands in the lap of her missing Mother. Next stop? London! The location for the next book in the series.
“April in London” finds our young adventuress hanging from the hands of Big Ben making time go backwards and accidentally unraveling the dress of the Queen. In subsequent books, April travels to New York, Mexico City, and eventually, to every country in the world, entreating readers to follow her every move.
Created as a beloved children’s books series and children’s programming, “April in Paris” has international appeal.  In the children’s programming, April blunders about like an inadvertent “Kid Colombo.” In each location, this “Dora the Explorer,” interacts, with characters collected along her journeys. She and her friends find a treasure and solve a mystery, meanwhile, learning about the culture, language, and monuments. This being under the parent’s radar, of course!
The “April in Paris,” pilot, is the first of two to eight animated episodes set in Paris. In this first season, April travels to Paris, London, New York City and Mexico City, where she meets Pierre, Diana, Rajiv, Jerome, and Maria. April calls upon her friends in the final episodes to solve the ultimate mystery at the Grand Canyon! As the series continues, April visits every major location in the world, with the grand finale at the Summer Olympics.
